About Us

What we do

As part of the Horizon 2020 Upsurge project we co-designed, with Belfast City Council and Queen's University Belfast, a community garden within 'the field' at Lower Botanic Gardens. Our vision is to connect people through growing food and being close to nature.

Having enjoyed the field for many years, our association wants to do all that we can to protect its biodiversity and enhance its potential as a space for community and climate resilience.

Passionate about the environment and proud of the area in which we live, we're keen to ensure the field and the wider Botanic Gardens area remains a place for people, pets, and nature to enjoy.

Who we are

We are a community of local residents, dog-lovers, and regular users of the old 'playing fields' at Belfast Botanic Gardens (Lower Botanic Gardens) - known to us, more affectionately, as 'the field.'

We are a vibrant, diverse, and committed voluntary group.
